MAMLAKA ya Kitaifa ya Usalama wa Viumbehai (NBA) imezitaka taasisi zinazofanya utafiti wa viumbe vilivyobadilishwa na kuboreshwa vinasaba (GMO) kuzingatia kikamilifu hatua za usalama wakati wa majaribio ya shambani yaliyodhibitiwa ili kulinda afya ya binadamu, mifugo na mazingira. Kaimu Afisa Mkuu Mtendaji wa NBA, Dkt Ann Karimi, alisema watafiti wanapaswa kufuata masharti ya Sheria ya Usalama wa Viumbehai ya mwaka 2009 huku Kenya ikiendelea kuendeleza utafiti wa bayoteknolojia unaolenga kuimarisha usalama wa chakula, kuongeza uzalishaji na kukabiliana na athari za mabadiliko ya tabianchi. Kiongozi wa DCP Rigathi Gachagua amelaumiwa na Waziri wa Usalama wa Ndani Kipchumba Murkomen kuwa anapanga kuleta fujo katika eneo bunge hilo. Naye Gachagua amemkumbusha Murkomen kuwa ameshindwa kazi hivyo anatafuta vijisababu. Vyombo vya usalama vina wajibu wa kukomesha msambao wa ghasia hizi. Vinginevyo makundi mengi haramu yatajitokea kabla ya uchaguzi mkuu wa 2027 na kuvuruga amani ya wahusika wote muhimu katika tukio hilo la kidemokrasia.
