Dalili Kalonzo anarukwa na vinara wa upinzani kuhusu Ukombozi
Juhudi za Kalonzo Musyoka kubadilisha jina na muundo wa muungano wa Azimio la Umoja kuwa The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA) zinaweza kumweka katika nafasi nzuri ya kuwania urais kwa tiketi ya upinzani au kumtenga na viongozi wengine kuelekea uchaguzi wa 2027. Kalonzo, ambaye anaongoza chama cha Wiper, amekuwa mstari wa mbele katika kuunda upya muungano huo baada ya kifo cha aliyekuwa Waziri Mkuu Raila Odinga, aliyekuwa kiongozi wake. Hata hivyo, baadhi ya viongozi wa upinzani wanapinga kujiunga na TUA, wakisema wanataka kuhifadhi utambulisho wa vyama vyao na kuunda muungano mpya. "Kwa sasa chama changu kinafanyiwa mabadiliko makubwa. Tuna miundo ya kuweka na makataa ya Tume ya Uchaguzi na Msajili wa Vyama vya Kisiasa ya kuzingatia. Mazungumzo kuhusu miungano yatakuja baadaye," alisema. Kalonzo naye amewataka wabunge wa Wiper walioonekana kushirikiana na Bw Sifuna kuzingatia shughuli za chama chao. Alitaja Mbunge wa Kaiti Joshua Kimilu na mwenzake wa Wundanyi Danson Mwashako. Hali hii inaashiria ushindani wa kutafuta uungwaji mkono mashinani na udhibiti wa vyama huku viongozi wakijaribu kuungana kumuondoa Rais William Ruto madarakani katika uchaguzi mkuu ujao. Naibu kiongozi wa Jubilee Jeremiah Kioni alisema chama hicho hakina haraka ya kujiunga na TUA, akisema upinzani unahitaji mawazo mapya. Alisema baadhi ya wanasiasa waliounga mkono mgombea wa Azimio katika uchaguzi wa 2022 walipata hasara kisiasa katika maeneo yao, na hawako tayari kujitolea tena kwa mpangilio kama huo. Hata hivywameunga mkono TUA kama chombo kinachoweza kumshinda Rais Ruto. Wote wamekuwa wakifanya kampeni pamoja na Kalonzo, ambaye wanamchukulia kama mgombeaji anayefaa kupewa tiketi ya urais. Mzozo huo unatokana na kipengele cha makubaliano ya muungano ambacho awali kilionekana kumpa kiongozi wa chama nafasi ya moja kwa moja kuwa mgombea urais. Washirika wa Kalonzo wanasema kipengele hicho kimebadilishwa na sasa wanachama wote wanaweza kuwania tiketi hiyo. Kalonzo pia amesisitiza kuwa kujiuzulu kwa Rais mstaafu Uhuru Kenyatta kama mwenyekiti wa baraza la muungano hakujasababisha pengo la uongozi ndani ya TUA. Kuna juhudi za kumshawishi Bw Gachagua achukue nafasi ya Bw Kenyatta ili kuvutia DCP kujiunga na muungano huo. Gavana wa Siaya James Orengo, ambaye anahusishwa na Linda Mwananchi, pia ametajwa kama anayeweza kupewa nafasi hiyo ili kuvutia wafuasi wa Nyanza. Hata hivyo, Mbunge wa Gatanga Edward Muriu, mshirika wa Bw Gachagua, alisema DCP inataka kwanza kuimarisha uungwaji mkono wake kabla ya kujadiliana na vyama vingine kuunda muungano mkubwa. Mchambuzi wa siasa Profesa David Monda alisema TUA inaweza kuwa vigumu kupata uungwaji mkono wa kutosha bila kuwashirikisha Kalonzo, Sifuna, Gachagua na aliyekuwa Waziri wa utawala wa ndani Fred Matiang'i katika mpangilio mmoja. Alisema viongozi hao wanapaswa kuungana ili kumshinda Rais Ruto au kuhatarisha kushindwa kila mmoja akigombea urais kivyake. Wanaounga mkono TUA wanataka muungano huo uige mfano wa National Rainbow Coalition (Narc), uliomuingiza Mwai Kibaki mamlakani mwaka 2002. Chini ya mfumo huo, vyama havikuvunjwa lakini viliunga mkono mgombea mmoja wa urais na ajenda ya pamoja. Lengo ni kuzuia upinzani kugawanyika na kumpa Rais Ruto nafasi ya kushinda uchaguzi wa 2027.
