Kitengo kipya cha matibabu ya figo chafunguliwa Hospitali ya Mama Lucy
Gavana wa Nairobi Johnson Sakaja ametangaza kufunguliwa kwa Kitengo kipya kilichopanuliwa cha huduma za figo (Renal Unit) katika Hospitali ya Mama Lucy Kibaki. Ufunguzi huo unalenga kuboresha upatikanaji wa huduma za kuokoa maisha za usafishaji damu (dialysis) na kuimarisha huduma maalumu za afya katika kaunti hiyo. Kitengo hicho cha kisasa, kilichoko katika Hospitali ya Level 5 ya Mama Lucy Kibaki, Umoja II, Embakasi Magharibi, kimewekewa mashine za kisasa na kina wahudumu wenye uzoefu katika matibabu ya magonjwa ya figo ili kutoa huduma kamili kwa wagonjwa. Akizungumza wakati wa uzinduzi huo, Gavana Sakaja alisema kitengo hicho kitatoa matibabu ya kina ya magonjwa ya figo, mipango ya matibabu inayolingana na mahitaji ya kila mgonjwa, ushauri wa lishe na mtindo wa maisha, pamoja na huduma za ushauri nasaha na msaada kwa wagonjwa. "Upanuzi wa huduma zetu za figo unaonyesha dhamira yetu ya kuhakikisha wakazi wa Nairobi wanapata huduma bora na nafuu bila kulazimika kusafiri umbali mrefu. Kituo hiki kitaboresha matokeo ya matibabu kwa wagonjwa wanaoishi na magonjwa ya figo," akasema Gavana Sakaja. Gavana huyo alibainisha kuwa kitengo kipya ni sehemu ya uwekezaji unaoendelea wa Serikali ya Kaunti ya Nairobi katika huduma maalumu za afya, unaolenga kupunguza hali ambapo wagonjwa wanaenda hospitali nyingine na pia kuleta huduma bora za matibabu karibu na wananchi. Hospitali hiyo imewahimiza wagonjwa wanaohitaji huduma za matibabu maalumu ya figo kupanga miadi kupitia Kitengo cha Figo kilichotengwa kwa huduma hizo. Uzinduzi huo ni sehemu ya maboresho yanayoendelea katika Hospitali ya Mama Lucy Kibaki, yakiwemo upanuzi wa huduma za wagonjwa mahututi, kumbi za kisasa za upasuaji, idara ya dharura iliyoboreshwa na uwezo ulioimarishwa wa uchunguzi wa magonjwa. Maboresho hayo yanadhihirisha dhamira ya Serikali ya Kaunti ya Nairobi ya kuimarisha miundombinu ya huduma za afya ya umma. Gavana Sakaja pia aliwahimiza wakazi wanaohitaji huduma za matibabu ya figo kutembelea Kitengo kipya cha Figo katika Hospitali ya Mama Lucy Kibaki, iliyoko Kangundo Road, Umoja II. Alisema huduma hizo zinapatikana chini ya mpango wa Mamlaka ya Afya ya Jamii (SHA), hatua itakayorahisisha upatikanaji wa huduma nafuu na bora za dialysis pamoja na matibabu maalumu ya magonjwa ya figo kwa wakazi wa Nairobi.
