Taarifa hiyo inapaswa kutolewa angalau siku 21 lakini si zaidi ya miezi mitatu kabla ya tarehe iliyopangwa ya ndoa. Taarifa hiyo haiishii tu kutaja kwamba wawili hao wanataka kuoana. Inapaswa kuwa na maelezo muhimu kuhusu wahusika. Miongoni mwa taarifa zinazotakiwa ni majina na umri wa wanaotarajia kufunga ndoa, pamoja na maeneo wanakoishi kwa kawaida.
