Wetang'ula amtaka Wamalwa aunge mkono Ruto, amshauri Uhuru astaafu siasa za upinzani
Spika wa Bunge la Kitaifa Moses Wetang'ula ameongeza juhudi za kuimarisha uungwaji mkono kwa Rais William Ruto huku akimtaka kiongozi wa chama cha Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), Eugene Wamalwa, kuondoka katika muungano wa upinzani na kujiunga na serikali ya Kenya Kwanza. Akizungumza katika mikutano tofauti Magharibi mwa Kenya, Wetang'ula alisema Wamalwa anafaa kutathmini upya msimamo wake wa kisiasa na kushirikiana na serikali kwa maslahi ya wananchi. Alidai kuwa viongozi wa muungano anaouunga mkono kwa sasa wanaweza kumsaliti kisiasa. "Muungano ambao ndugu yangu mdogo Eugene Wamalwa anaunga mkono kwa sasa utamwangusha kisiasa. Nafasi yake ni kufanya kazi pamoja na serikali kwa maendeleo ya wananchi," alisema Wetang'ula. Wakati huohuo, Spika huyo alimkosoa Rais mstaafu Uhuru Kenyatta, akimtaka kuheshimu hadhi yake ya kiongozi mstaafu na kupatia serikali ya Rais Ruto nafasi ya kuongoza nchi bila kuingiliwa. Akizungumza katika hafla ya kuwawezesha waendesha bodaboda katika shule ya Ojaamong' Comprehensive, Kaunti ya Busia, Wetang'ula alisema marais waliostaafu nchini wamekuwa wakitoa nafasi kwa warithi wao kuongoza bila kuwakosoa hadharani. "Nimehudumu serikalini tangu enzi za Rais Moi na baadaye Rais Kibaki, lakini sijawahi kuona rais mstaafu akimshambulia hadharani aliye mamlakani," alisema. Wetang'ula alimtaka Kenyatta kujikita katika majukumu yake kama rais mstaafu na mwakilishi wa Kenya katika Muungano wa Afrika (AU), akisema nafasi hiyo inahitaji uzalendo na ushirikiano na serikali iliyoko madarakani. Aidha, Spika huyo alitetea azma ya Rais Ruto kutafuta muhula wa pili mwaka 2027, akisema uchaguzi huo unapaswa kuamuliwa kwa msingi wa maendeleo yaliyotekelezwa na serikali. Alitaja miradi ya barabara, nyumba za bei nafuu, kilimo, umeme na unyunyuzaji kama baadhi ya mafanikio ambayo wapigakura wanapaswa kuzingatia. Katika Kaunti ya Busia, Wetang'ula alisifia miradi kama Eneo la Kuchakata Bidhaa za Mauzo ya Nje la Busibwabo na Mradi wa Unyunyuzaji wa Bunyala, akisema itatoa nafasi za ajira na kuchochea uchumi wa eneo hilo. Akiwa katika mazishi katika Eneo Bunge la Saboti, Kaunti ya Trans Nzoia, Spika huyo aliendelea kutetea juhudi za Rais Ruto za kutaka muhula wa pili, akisema viongozi waliomtangulia walihudumu kwa zaidi ya muhula mmoja bila kuzuiwa kisiasa. Pia aliwataka viongozi kuachana na siasa za matusi na badala yake kuzingatia maendeleo ya wananchi, akisisitiza kuwa tofauti za kisiasa hazipaswi kuzuia utekelezaji wa miradi ya maendeleo. Kauli za Wetang'ula zinajiri viongozi wa Kenya Kwanza wakizidisha kampeni za kuimarisha uungwaji mkono wa Rais Ruto katika maeneo mbalimbali nchini kuelekea uchaguzi mkuu wa mwaka 2027.
