Changamoto za Linda Mwananchi kuhifadhi jina baada ya chama tofauti kupewa jina 'LINDA'
HUENDA hakuna chama cha kisiasa nchini kinachofahamu umuhimu wa kulinda chapa yake kuliko Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). Waanzilishi wake bado wanakumbuka jinsi kuchelewa kusajili jina la chama kulivyokaribia kuvuruga mipango yao kuelekea uchaguzi wa 2007. Karibu miongo miwili baadaye, historia hiyo inaonekana kujirudia, safari hii ikihusisha mrengo uliotokana na ODM. Kwa miezi kadhaa, Seneta wa Nairobi Edwin Sifuna na washirika wake, akiwemo Gavana wa Siaya James Orengo na Mbunge wa Embakasi Mashariki Babu Owino, wamekuwa wakijenga vuguvugu la Linda Mwananchi kuwa chapa kubwa ya upinzani. Hata hivyo, huku viongozi hao wakihamasisha wafuasi kote nchini, vita vingine vilikuwa vikiendelea kimyakimya katika Ofisi ya Msajili wa Vyama vya Kisiasa (ORPP). Sasa, miaka 20 baadaye, mrengo mmoja wa ODM unaonekana kukumbana na funzo lilelile. Kwa Linda Mwananchi, vita sasa si kuhusu nani aliyeanzisha kauli hiyo au nani anavutia umati mkubwa zaidi.
