Wanafunzi 'waua' wazazi ili wapate kiwango cha juu cha ufadhili serikalini
BAADHI ya wanafunzi wanaoomba ufadhili wa masomo ya vyuo vikuu na mikopo ya HELB wamekuwa wakidai kwenye fomu za maombi kuwa wazazi wao wamefariki, ilhali bado wako hai. Wamekuwa wakifanya hivyo wakilenga kupata kiwango cha juu cha ufadhili wa serikalini. Kaimu Afisa Mkuu Mtendaji wa Hazina ya Vyuo Vikuu (UF), Dkt Edwin Wanyonyi, alisema tabia hiyo imebainika chini ya mfumo wa ufadhili unaozingatia kiwango cha uhitaji wa mwanafunzi. Alisema wanafunzi wanaojitambulisha kama mayatima hupata nafasi ya kupata ufadhili mkubwa zaidi, lakini akasisitiza kuwa UF na HELB zina mifumo ya kuthibitisha taarifa zote zinazowasilishwa. "Msijaribu 'kuwaua' wazazi wenu kwenye karatasi. Tukigundua wazazi wako wako hai, tutajua. Toeni taarifa za kweli," akasema. Dkt Wanyonyi aliwataka wanafunzi kujaza taarifa sahihi kuhusu mapato ya familia, idadi ya ndugu na hali ya kiafya ili kiwango cha ufadhili kiamuliwe kwa haki. Naye Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa HELB, Geoffrey Monari, aliwahimiza wanafunzi wote waliopata nafasi kupitia KUCCPS kuomba ufadhili kabla ya Septemba 6, 2026. Alisisitiza kuwa mchakato huo ni bure na akawaonya wanafunzi dhidi ya kutumia akaunti za benki, nambari za simu au barua pepe za watu wengine wakati wa kutuma maombi.
