Kauli ya Uhuru yafufua kidonda cha uchaguzi wa 2022

KAULI ya aliyekuwa Rais Uhuru Kenyatta kwamba bado anaamini marehemu Raila Odinga ndiye aliyeshinda uchaguzi mkuu wa urais wa mwaka 2022 imezua mjadala mkali wa kisiasa, huku ikifungua upya majeraha ya uchaguzi huo na kuibua maswali mapya kuhusu yaliyojiri baada ya kura za Agosti 9, 2022. Akizungumza katika makao makuu ya chama cha Jubilee jijini Nairobi, Bw Kenyatta alisema hana shaka kuwa Raila Odinga alipata kura za kutosha kushinda urais, lakini mambo yalienda kwa njia ambayo hakutaka yajirudie tena. "Tulifanya kila kitu kuhakikisha Baba anakuwa Rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya. Alipata kura na hadi leo ninaamini ndiye aliyeshinda kura hizo. Tunajua yaliyotokea na hatutaki yatokee tena kwa njia hiyo," alisema. Kauli hiyo imezua mvutano mpya kati ya viongozi wa chama tawala cha UDA, viongozi wa ODM na hata baadhi ya wanafamilia wa marehemu Raila Odinga. Mjadala huo umefufua kumbukumbu za uchaguzi wa 2022 wakati Tume Huru ya Uchaguzi na Mipaka (IEBC) ilimtangaza William Ruto mshindi kwa kura 7,176,141 sawa na asilimia 50.49 dhidi ya kura 6,942,930 za Raila Odinga zilizokuwa asilimia 48.85. Baadaye Mahakama ya Juu ilitupilia mbali kesi zote zilizopinga ushindi wa Dkt Ruto na kuthibitisha matokeo hayo mnamo Septemba 5, 2022.  Kiongozi wa ODM, Dkt Oburu Oginga, alisema kauli ya Uhuru inathibitisha kile ambacho chama chake kiliamini wakati huo, lakini imezua maswali mapya. "Ikiwa alikuwa na hakika Raila alishinda, kwa nini serikali yake ilikabidhi madaraka kwa mtu ambaye aliamini hakushinda uchaguzi?" alihoji. Dkt Oginga alisema ODM ilitumia njia zote za kikatiba kupinga matokeo ya uchaguzi lakini baada ya kushindwa mahakamani iliamua kuacha suala hilo na kuendelea mbele kwa manufaa ya taifa. "Baada ya kutumia njia zote za kikatiba zilizokuwapo, tuliamua kulimaliza suala hilo na kusonga mbele kama nchi," alisema. Aidha alionya dhidi ya kutumia uchaguzi wa 2022 na mchango wa Raila Odinga kama silaha ya kampeni za kisiasa kuelekea uchaguzi wa 2027. Kwa upande wake, Bw Kenyatta alitetea nafasi yake katika kampeni za Raila mwaka 2022 na kupinga madai kwamba hakufanya vya kutosha kumuunga mkono. "Wanaposema walinishinda, je ni mimi niliyekuwa kwenye kura au alikuwa Raila Odinga? Niliwezaje kushindwa ilhali nilikuwa nasaidia Raila?" aliuliza. Rais William Ruto naye aliwahi kumjibu Bw Kenyatta katika mkutano huko Siaya, akisema ikiwa hakumshinda alipokuwa rais, itakuwa vigumu zaidi kumshinda sasa akiwa amestaafu.  "Uhuru Kenyatta hakunishinda alipokuwa Rais, sasa mimi ndiye Rais na yeye amestaafu. Atawezaje kunishinda?" alihoji Dkt Ruto.   Katibu Mkuu wa UDA, Hassan Omar alikataa madai ya Bw Kenyatta na kusisitiza kuwa Dkt Ruto alishinda uchaguzi huo kwa njia halali. "Rais William Ruto alishinda uchaguzi wa mwaka 2022 kwa uwazi na kwa uhalali kamili," alisema Omar. Naye kiongozi wa Wiper Kalonzo Musyoka ameongeza uzito wa mjadala huo kwa kudai kuwa upande wa Raila Odinga uliibiwa ushindi sio tu mwaka 2022 bali pia katika uchaguzi wa 2013 na 2017. Akizungumza Kitui, Kalonzo alisema anaamini muungano wao ulishinda mara zote tatu lakini haukutangazwa mshindi. Kauli za Bw Kenyatta pia zimegawanya maoni ndani ya familia ya Odinga. Ndugu yake Raila, Omondi Oginga, alimkosoa kwa kufufua suala hilo miaka kadhaa baada ya uchaguzi na baada ya kifo cha kiongozi huyo wa ODM. "Uhuru hapaswi kucheza mchezo huu nasi. Raila ameondoka na hatufurahii suala hili kufufuliwa tena. Alikuwa madarakani na alikuwa na uwezo wote, kwa nini hakuchukua hatua wakati huo?" alihoji. Seneta wa Narok Ledama Ole Kina naye alihoji kwa nini Bw Kenyatta anatoa madai hayo sasa ilhali alikuwa Rais, Amiri Jeshi Mkuu na ndiye aliyekabidhi mamlaka kwa Dkt Ruto. Mjadala huo umefufua historia ya uchaguzi tata nchini Kenya, hasa uchaguzi wa 2007 uliosababisha machafuko makubwa ya baada ya uchaguzi, pamoja na ule wa 2017 ambao Mahakama ya Juu ilibatilisha na kuagiza urudiwe. Sasa, huku maandalizi ya uchaguzi wa 2027 yakianza kushika kasi, kauli ya Uhuru imefanya uchaguzi wa 2022 kurejea tena katikati ya siasa za taifa.
