NCIC kutumia Sh962m kuzuia ghasia za uchaguzi
TUME ya Uwiano na Utangamano wa Kitaifa (NCIC) inapanga kutumia Sh962.6 milioni kudhibiti matamshi ya chuki, ukabila na ghasia za kisiasa kuelekea Uchaguzi Mkuu wa 2027. Mpango huo, unaojulikana kama Salama 2027, unalenga kutambua mapema maeneo yenye mivutano, kukabiliana na matamshi ya chuki mitandaoni, kuwahusisha vijana na kurejesha imani ya wananchi katika taasisi. Mwenyekiti wa NCIC, Askofu Kepha Omae, alisema Sh250 milioni zinatarajiwa kutoka kwa Serikali kupitia bajeti za ziada, huku fedha zilizosalia zikitarajiwa kutoka kwa wafadhili. "Uchaguzi wa 2027 lazima uchukuliwe kama mchakato na wala si tukio la siku moja. Ni lazima tujenge upya imani, tuwahusishe vijana na kutambua mivutano mapema," alisema. NCIC inapanga kuanzisha mifumo ya kisasa ya kutambua matamshi hatari mtandaoni, kutuma vikosi vya upatanishi katika maeneo hatari, kuendesha misafara ya amani na kutoa elimu ya uraia. Mpango huo pia utahusisha kutambua maeneo yenye uwezekano wa mizozo katika kaunti zote 47.

CHAMA cha Wiper Patriotic Movement kinachoongozwa na Kalonzo Musyoka kimeeleza kwa mara ya kwanza jinsi kilivyotwaa jina The Ukombozi Alliance (TUA), huku mzozo kuhusu jina hilo ukizidi kupamba moto kuelekea uchaguzi mkuu wa 2027. Kupitia kampuni ya mawakili ya LAK Advocates, chama hicho kimesema kilianza kutafuta na kuhifadhi majina ya vyama tangu Machi 2025, wakati kilipokuwa kikijiandaa kuunda muungano wa kisiasa. Kwa mujibu wa nyaraka zilizopatikana na Taifa Dijitali, chama hicho kilihifadhi majina tisa, yakiwemo The Ukombozi Alliance, kabla ya kuchagua kuwa jina lake. Katika barua ya Septemba 8, 2026, Msajili wa Vyama vya Kisiasa, John Cox Lorionokou, alikataa ombi la upande wa Bw Sifuna kubadilisha jina la United Democratic Party (UDP) kuwa Ukombozi People's Party (UPP). Msajili alisema jina hilo lilifanana kwa kiwango kikubwa na The Ukombozi Alliance. Hata hivyo, nyaraka zinaonyesha kuwa Ofisi ya Msajili wa Vyama vya Kisiasa (ORPP), ilikuwa imeidhinisha awali uhifadhi wa jina Ukombozi People's Party mnamo Machi 13, 2025, baada ya ombi la wakili Allan Akivanga. Lakini Septemba 21, Bw Akivanga alibadilisha msimamo na kueleza ORPP kuwa UPP sasa itaendelea na mchakato wa usajili. Alisema hatua hiyo ilichukuliwa kutokana na kucheleweshwa kwa mchakato wa usajili. Upande wa Bw Musyoka unasema Bw Akivanga hakuongeza muda wa kuhifadhi jina hilo na kwa hivyo alipoteza haki ya kulidai. Kwa mujibu wa LAK Advocates, uhifadhi wa jina la chama huwa wa muda usiozidi siku 90 na muombaji anapaswa kuomba kuongezewa muda ili kuendelea kulilinda. Kampuni hiyo inasema uhifadhi wa jina UPP ulimalizika Juni 13, 2025 bila Bw Akivanga kuchukua hatua za kuuongeza. LAK pia inasema haikuwa na taarifa kuhusu mpango wa UDP kubadilisha jina lake kuwa UPP hadi ilipoona tangazo la gazeti. Mzozo huo ulizidi baada ya UDP kuchapisha tangazo Agosti ikialika maoni kuhusu pendekezo la kubadilisha jina lake. LAK ilisema iliwasilisha pingamizi Agosti 10, 2026, ikieleza kuwa matumizi ya jina Ukombozi yanaweza kusababisha mkanganyiko miongoni mwa wananchi kutokana na kufanana kwa majina hayo. Mzozo huo sasa umeangazia mamlaka ya Msajili wa Vyama vya Kisiasa kukataa majina yanayoweza kuwachanganya wapiga kura. LAK inasema sheria inampa Msajili mamlaka ya kukataa jina, kaulimbiu au nembo ya chama kipya ikiwa inafanana kwa karibu na chama au taasisi nyingine iliyosajiliwa.
